2024 Annual FCKLL Hit-A-Thon
Week of May 6-10, 2024
Logistics
Hit-A-Thon will occur in conjunction with each team’s practice schedule the week of May 6. Please refer to your team’s FCKLL team calendar for date, time, and location.
Donations
Players are encouraged to seek donations from family and friends. This year’s goal is $100 per player or $1,200 per team. (Tee-ballers have a goal of $50 per player.) In the spirit of simplicity, FCKLL will accept lump-sum donations only (no donations per home run).
Players are encouraged to create a donation link to send to friends & family. Find your personal donation site here. Once you have clicked this link, please search for your player using their first name and last initial. Once you've found their site, feel free to copy and paste this link for your own fundraising efforts.
For general donations not associated with a specific player, please visit our general donation page here.
Hit-A-Thon Rules
Each player will have 10 total swings (not necessarily hits).
Tee Rookies will hit from a tee. A homerun occurs when the ball clears the infield (rolling or on-the-fly).
Tee Sluggers will hit from either a coach pitch from a knee or tee. A homerun occurs when the ball clears the infield (rolling or on-the-fly).
A-Level will hit with coach pitch from one knee. A homerun occurs when the ball clears the infield (rolling or on-the-fly).
AA-Level preferred method is with coach pitch front toss, from ~15' away, behind a L-screen (if available). If an L-Screen is not available, Coaches may also bring/use their own hitting nets for their own safety. Quartermasters are able to loan out a portable hitting net, if needed. A homerun occurs when the ball clears the infield on-the-fly only.
AAA and Majors will hit with coach pitch front toss behind a L-screen, from roughly 15' away, with a firm underhand toss that maximizes strikes seen.
AAA homerun occurs when the ball exceeds 175' rolling OR on-the-fly. For most fenced fields, this is roughly 25' from the fence. Any balls hit over the fence on-the-fly will count as double and noted for tiebreaker if needed.
Majors homerun occurs when the ball exceeds 175' on-the-fly. For most fenced fields, this is roughly 25' from the fence. Any balls hit over the fence on-the-fly will count as double and noted for tiebreaker if needed.
The top 6 Majors players (this is ONLY for Majors) will advance to the finals round. See below for details.
Intermediate homerun occurs when the ball exceeds 200' on-the-fly. For Idylwood 3, this is roughly 20' from the fence. Any balls hit over the fence on-the-fly will count as double and noted for tiebreaker if needed.
Managers should make every effort to break any ties on their team during the Hit-a-Thon at their practice. If a tie cannot be broken after several rounds of hitting, it is at the discretion of the Manager to put forward two team winners.
Majors Hit-A-Thon Finals
The top 6 Majors finalists will advance to a finals round occurring at the start of the Adult Hit-A-Thon on May 11th at 6pm at Westgate 1. Previous scores do NOT carry over, and players will have 10 total swings to hit homeruns. The rules for the finals are the same as above.
